Do Cats Control Our Thoughts?

This is a question that turns up mostly in the back rooms and late night discussions at the Cat Coffee House by my apartment, but, as history shows, these clandestine discussions often turn out to be the most important.

Bob insists that cats use their sense of smell, coupled with their keen sense of balance, to detect changes in the ionic field around them and the humans within their sphere.  Once detected, they begin to manipulate the ions to suit their desires.

Brian, on the other hand, who has always been more of a traditionalist, contends that cats control our thoughts the old fashioned way – through basic mind-control techniques ingrained in the DNA of all living species, but taken advantage of by only a few.  The BRIAN VIEW is based upon the presupposition that all living creatures come from the same essential and eternal source, thus, in order to control the thoughts of others, all one must do is control the thoughts of themselves.
